It all starts with great technique. Students learn hand position, posture, and tension-free technique that will allow them to play with expression and speed for decades without pain.
We also teach note reading, and music will become like a second language to you. You’ll need to master the bass and treble clefs, and we are here to help. Along those lines, we teach even our young students how to sight read, and our students feel empowered as they are able to sit down and play through a piece of music the first time they see it.
You will learn sharps and flats, key signatures, chords, scales and arpeggios, playing by ear, and everything else that makes someone a competent and advanced pianist.
As students improve, we teach them how to memorize music, how to prepare for recitals and competitions, and how to select music that will take their playing to the next level.
